The Topic 13 Posttest is Monday, March 9th! Then we will move on to Topic 15 in which the students become experts on the 5 quadrilaterals - parallelogram, rectangle, rhombus, square and trapezoid! More specifically, your child must be able to identify each one, draw samples of each one, describe their sides as parallel or not, describe their angles as right or not, and compare 2 or more of the quadrilaterals and tell how they are alike or different.
Also, as a heads up, our 50 Fact Quiz at the end of March will have a time limit of 4 minutes! Math Calendar: |

"Tricks" for the harder facts:
6 x 6 = 36 It rhymes – 6 times 6 is 36.
6 x 7 = 42 Braydon K from last year made up a rhyme for us! "6 cows in 7 farms, all go forty-moo (42)"
6 x 8 = 48 It rhymes – 6 times 8 is 48.
7 x 7 = 49 7 kids in 7 lines. Add em up, it’s 49.
7 x 8 = 56 5, 6, 7, 8…56 is 7 times 8.
8 x 8 = 64 I ate and ate til I got sick on the floor...8 times 8 is 64.
